National Beef Wire – Parsons Livestock Auction (Parsons, KS) had a remarkable day on Wednesday, August 20th, setting multiple new barn records across the board. The barn established a new all-time high for 8-weights with 57 head at 861 lbs bringing $355.50/cwt, along with a new record for 6-weights as 26 head at 674 lbs sold for $420.50/cwt.

 

In the 7-weight division, 39 head at 548 lbs brought $465.00/cwt and 11 head at 527 lbs hit $446.00/cwt, ranking as the 2nd and 3rd highest 7-weight sales in barn history.

 

The highlight of the day came from Ellsworth Cattle, which brought in steers averaging 467 lbs, marketed through the All Natural Beef program by Real Kansas Meats and purchased by Miller Cattle Company at $522.50/cwt — the highest 4-weight sale in barn history and the 5th highest 4-weight sale in Kansas history.
