About the Role
Real Kansas Meats is opening a retail store and needs a dependable, personable associate to run the front of the store and keep the operation organized behind the scenes. This is a customer-facing role for someone who is comfortable at a register, good with people, and organized enough to keep product and paperwork moving.

Responsibilities

  • Operate the point-of-sale / cash register and provide friendly, knowledgeable customer service
  • Stock shelves and freezers, and rotate product by date so nothing goes past its window
  • Perform daily freezer and cooler temperature checks and keep accurate logs (twice daily)
  • Support day-to-day administrative tasks: order and delivery paperwork, basic data entry, and note-taking
  • Help maintain accurate store inventory and flag low or overstocked items
  • Keep the store clean, presentable, and ready for evening and weekend traffic

Requirements

  • Comfortable with computers and basic data entry
  • Retail, register, or customer-service experience preferred
  • Strong personality and genuine comfort talking with customers
  • Reliable, organized, and able to work independently
  • Able to obtain a food protection manager certification (e.g., ServSafe)
  • Availability for evening (until ~7 p.m.) and Saturday shifts

About the Role
You’ll pick up product from our processing facility, deliver it to wholesale accounts throughout the week, and act as the face of Real Kansas Meats to those customers — taking orders, suggesting product, and opening new accounts along the way. The right person understands the meat industry and isn’t afraid to walk into a restaurant or grocery and start a conversation.

Responsibilities

  • Pick up product from the processing facility and deliver to wholesale customers on a weekly route (primary pickup/delivery day Tuesday, deliveries throughout the week)
  • Load, pre-sort, and organize product so drops are efficient and accurate
  • Serve wholesale accounts — take orders, suggest additional product, and grow order size at existing stops
  • Prospect and open new wholesale accounts (restaurants, grocers, and similar)
  • Between routes, help with in-store inventory checks and product rotation (e.g., Wednesday inventory review)
  • Represent the RKM brand professionally

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of meat cuts and grades — able to speak confidently about grinds (80/20 vs. 90/10), primals, loin cuts, and choice vs. select
  • Sales-minded and outgoing; comfortable cold-calling and building relationships
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • In this role you will need to lift boxes of 40 lbs or greater
  • Physically able to handle and load boxes of product
  • Dependable and self-directed

Nice to Have

  • CDL (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Prior food/meat sales or distribution experience (Sysco, EVCO, or similar)
  • Interest in a longer-term path into plant or operations work

Hourly pay: Experienced: $18.00–$20.00 | No experience: $17.00–$18.00

Position Summary
Real Kansas Meats (RKM) is seeking two dependable full-time meat cutters to prepare quality meat products for customer orders. Experienced cutters and candidates without prior experience are welcome. Candidates must be willing to learn RKM cutting specifications and follow food-safety and sanitation procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cut, trim, debone, and portion meat to RKM specifications.
  • Grind meat and prepare orders accurately while minimizing waste.
  • Weigh, package, label, and organize products; follow inventory rotation procedures.
  • Use knives, grinders, saws, and other equipment safely after appropriate training.
  • Clean and sanitize tools, equipment, and work areas; follow temperature-control and safe-handling procedures.
  • Work with the team to meet daily production needs and maintain consistent quality.

Qualifications & Work Environment
Meat-cutting, butcher, or meat-processing experience is preferred but not required. Candidates should demonstrate reliable attendance, attention to detail, teamwork, and willingness to learn. The work involves standing for extended periods, repetitive cutting tasks, refrigerated conditions, hot environment, and moving meat products, with reasonable accommodation as needed.
